Molot compressor updated to 0.2.168

Check this out at [downloads] section.

What’s new? In short: “max on render” feature added and the sound was slightly changed.

Note: If you don’t like sound changes you can download and use one of previous versions.

Warning! The plugin-ID was changed! If your want to update your plugin by new version it’s better to rename and leave old version to be working with your old projects. Why I did this? I know a lot of people has released projects with Molot used. As the sound in new version was changed a bit those people must have ability to recall their projects sounding as they was but at the same time to use the new version of Molot in new projects.

List of changes:

  • Dithering algorithm was changed.
  • Difference between frequency responses in different oversampling settings was minimized.
  • New Plugin-ID value. Now you simultaneously use this version and previous version of plugin (copy under different names).
  • New parameters (showed by clicking triangle in the bottom left corner):
“Render” – oversampling settings on project rendering
“Norm.” – use specified by user (default)
        “8x”    – use 8x oversampling on render
      “Dither” – dithering settings:
“High”  – high dithering level (default)
        “Low”   – low dithering level

What am I doing now? I’m working on limiter plugin.

What are my plans about Molot? I want to go Pro Tools! First to make it working with VST to RTAS wrapper. And then maybe should I try to make RTAS version?

Any plans on an RTAS version? I couldn’t get this working with a VST to RTAS wrapper

Windows version works fine with FXPansion wrapper 2.11 and Pro Tools 8. I didn’t try it on Mac but I can do it.

About RTAS version it’s not easy to get RTAS SDK for development (I must be well-known developer, have business plan to sell RTAS version and sign a lot of NDAs). But I think I can try to do something. Recently I bought Pro Tools 8 and it’s the first step for RTAS version.
