thanks ! on va tester cash cette bombe !

  2. acoustopia 2012/06/26 at 20:02

How cool is this? Well done Vlad, and it sounds as good as it looks! Gonna put it through the paces against the other limiters in my plugins folder…I know there will be casualties tonight, resulting in far less plugins to waste my time :-).
Talk about a godsend…sincere thanks again!

  3. Lesha 2012/06/26 at 20:52

very nice work, thanks for this!
holds it’s own against the best commercial plugins.

  4. Newport 2012/06/28 at 21:14

Excellent work! Still getting to grips with it, but initial impressions are good – certainly up there with the best! Thanks for doing this & sharing.

  5. Alan in Washington DC 2012/06/30 at 19:40

This looks like it would make a good airchain processor for a small AM radio station. I am going to give it a try and report my findings.

  6. Dima 2012/07/02 at 03:51

    Спасибо большое! Красивый плагин.

  7. Newport 2012/07/04 at 10:49

Fantastic! One of the best limiters I’ve ever used. Thanks for all your work and for sharing this with us!

  8. Robert Cooke (@boyatheart) 2012/07/05 at 22:21

Truly great-sounding plugin. Shocking price and the bonus is that it works in the VST to RTAS wrapper in Protools. A future AAX version would be nice and I’d be happy to pay for that!

    • Stephen Kurpis 2015/10/30 at 01:29

Yes, 100% agree with this statement. I’ve been using the VST version of the Limiter No. 6 and The Molot with PT9 for a few years (by using FXpansions VST to RTAS convertor); however by the end of the year I’ll be following thru on some much needed system upgrades and I would also gladly pay for an AAX version. I enjoy the Molot as a parallel bus compression on Drums and Guitars, but I truly love working with the Limiter No. 6; it’s been my go to bus compression/limiter.

  9. nikiT 2012/07/21 at 14:37

Круто, Влад, спасибо Вам и остальным разработчикам, которые помогали в разработке Molot и Limiter №6.
“Q-Valda” – хорошо подойдёт название для “EQ + Compressor”, или что-то в этом роде)

    • vladgsound 2012/07/21 at 22:14

Спасибо! Остальных, правда, сложно назвать разработчиками. Скорее люди, которые давали ценные советы. Полезные и вредные 🙂

  10. Nick T (@sturmen) 2012/07/24 at 21:33

Looks awesome! Do you plan for a 64-bit Mac VST version? Ableton just put out a beta of 64bit Live and I’m trying to switch over to that.

  11. Alex 2012/08/06 at 20:08

Check out my first mix where I used this limiter during mastering (caution, heavy!). The plugin is awesome!

Thank you a lot. It sound great.

  14. Apple Addict 2012/08/14 at 05:09

would be nice if there was an AU version

  15. giovanni conti 2012/08/23 at 02:04

great great great, i find it compares favourably with Voxengo Elephant, i manage to get the track to sound more aggressive with less artifacts. On the sweetspot, it has a beautiful effect on the bass, making it more enveloping and 3D.
One suggestion: could you make the crossover frequency for the Hifreq limiter variable?
Maybe one knob to set the lower limit, or even better two knobs to isolate a defined frequency range?
    Thanks a lot,
keep up the good work !
    Gio @ AM

  17. Alex 2012/11/22 at 20:11

I really want to try this in Logic, is there an AU version coming soon?
    Thanks for your work!

  20. Arthur 2012/12/05 at 15:20

This plugin is amazing, really. Was having problems with a very distorted sound in my current mix, while trying to match levels of some late metal albums (using albums by Andy Sneap as reference). Tried Reaper limiter, registered version of Barricade, W1, Loudmax, demos of Waves ones and Mellowmuse (which has some nice character) – but all destroyed the sound.
Inserted Limiter No6 in the channel, and firstly, still not sounded good. Patiently tuned each section from zero and – voila! Had a clean sound, with amazing transients and with the same level of Accept’s Blood of the Nations album.
For producers with budget problems, I must say this is an essential addition!
    Thank you so much.
    Arthur (Brazil)

Nice limiter. Can you provide the NON-GUI version like molot?

  22. max 2013/01/17 at 09:41

      • dddux 2013/02/16 at 18:03

Thank you so much Vlad! Your initiative to provide us with “no GUI” versions of your plugins for us who like to use ears instead of eyes to mix should set an example for other developers. The biggest problem with mixing with eyes is that you simply cannot help yourself to do it! So this way one is simply forced to do it. 🙂 Thank you once again!

  26. dddux 2013/02/16 at 02:37

The thing about your limiter is the concept. The concept is amazing and how it’s supposed to be done in mastering. Very well thought of. 😉 Compressor>limiter>clipper. It’s suitable for all kinds of music. I usually just use a little bit of compression before limiting, and rely a lot on ISP limiter, since I don’t limit much. I just need it to “glue” the track, and get rid of the highest peaks.

    • vladgsound 2013/02/16 at 03:51

My initial concept was to simulate analog limiter and ADC clipping after it. Unfortunately, I failed this concept. But anyway, finally we have not a bad plug-in! 🙂

  27. Jacinto 2013/02/28 at 02:15

    Can´t download the plugins:
    {“error”: “Host: rpc.dropbox.com:443, FE: None, X-Dropbox-RequestId: None, X-Dropbox-App-Error: None, Service Unavailable”}

  28. Jacinto 2013/02/28 at 02:18

Ok thanks. The plugin seems great.

  29. skrillex 2013/03/14 at 22:38

    love it seems 2 work

  30. Stan 2013/05/02 at 07:02

A non-SSE2 compile would be nice if it is possible, since I have some PIII workstations that I wish I could run this on.

    • vladgsound 2013/05/06 at 16:45

Hi! Oversampling code was manually optimized using SSE2 instructions. Also “precise” mode for ISP limiter uses this oversampling code. Hmm, I’m not sure it is possible to disable optimized oversampling code and get good enough performance… But I should think a bit…

  31. SJ 2013/05/09 at 22:19

WOW! I’m using Limiter No. 6 on a metal mix right now in Logic x64 and it’s really amazing. On the drum buss, it just really glued the whole kit together. I haven’t started mastering with it yet, but cycled through the presets. Pretty exciting stuff man!

The plug-ins aren’t showing up in Pro-Tools. VST to RTAS wrapper is showing them as invalid….

The plug-ins aren’t showing up in Pro-Tools. VST to RTAS wrapper is showing them as invalid….Is there anything I can do to get them working? I’m using Pro Tools 10

  33. DarkMedievalTimes 2013/06/12 at 16:52

  34. DarkMedievalTimes 2013/06/12 at 17:20

Hi Vlad, just to let you know I got it working and the plugins sound amazing. I was copying the 64.dll files instead of the unmarked extensions.
Donation on the way : D

  35. Clint Martin 2013/09/15 at 02:15

What happened to the blue gui? Not the one with the yellow “LimiterNo.6”, but another. I had to completely re-boot my PC and use a backup from Nov 2012 and I had the blue one. It looks really good, but you’ve updated since then and fixed the stereo linked option so…I wish I knew how to post a pic.

  36. Robert Fischer 2013/09/25 at 01:45

This thing sounds amazing! And such a great Concept, having the different modules, each working just a little, all together creating this rich awesomeness at a reaaly low amount of unwanted distortion! Seems like you guys really know your mastering…. Absolutely love it!
Used it on EVERY project I’ve been working on since I got it 4 weeks ago! And I have a lot of tools:)
    Keep up the amazing work….

  37. Clint Martin 2013/10/07 at 01:28

There that sexy gui is! As promised…Donation sent! Thanks Vlad!

  38. dj cany 2013/10/07 at 07:22

that is good, but i want to know which plugn is latest for mastering

  39. Sebastian 2013/10/17 at 22:23

How to switch between GUI #1 & GUI #2?

  40. ipp 2013/11/27 at 22:23

Arrgh, this seems to crash in 64bit consistently for me (OS X 10.6.8). Shame, because it is an amazing Limiter/clipper/compressor; right up there with the best.

  41. Bob Bloomfield. 2013/12/10 at 10:07

Very impressed, best free limiter i have ever used!

  45. Gaetan 2013/12/29 at 02:46

Great plug-in !! I still have to learn much about it but it’s just what I need.
It’s fantastic that guys like you are working on free plug-ins. Of course I donate with pleasure !
Thank you very much and best wishes for 2014

  46. Aschantie Ellmarc 2014/01/27 at 01:56

A BIG THANK for a wonderful plugin ( MOLOT naturally also !). Very successful graphic arts . Great work !

  47. Skel 2014/02/06 at 15:34

Hello and thank you for your amazing tools! Especially the Limiter No. 6 – i got hooked to it instantaneously and it is my go-to Master-Bus Limiter from now on. I don’t need no other limiter anymore (and I tried a lot from Waves L2/L3 to Oxford Limiter and what not). The Compressor > Limiter Part works so charmingly well together and the GUI no. 2 fits my taste perfectly. It’s a great compromise between graphics (thanks for the VU Meters!), simplicity and usability. I should mention the small-screen friendly size, too. I don’t like unnecessary big plugin GUIs.

I have a question though: I read in one of your comments on this blog that you have a commercial version in mind. Since you teamed up with Tokyo Dawn Labs and you’re working on a new version of the plugin, will this be free or will it be the commercial version you mentioned in the comments section? If that would be the case I would just wait for the plugin and buy it on this way. 🙂

Thank you for your amazing work!

    • vladgsound 2014/02/06 at 16:06

Hi Skel! Thanks! Right now I’m working on commercial AAX version of Limiter6. It’ll be released under Tokyo Dawn Labs label. This commercial version will also include VST/AU. The functionality of this version is mostly the same but extended a bit (threshold control for compressor, A/B settings, preset manager, undo/redo and so on). I have plans to continue development of Limiter6 either in a form of version with reduced knobs (simpler to use) or in a form of a bundle where each Limiter section is a separate plugin with extended functionality.

      • Andrew J Klimek 2014/08/27 at 04:33

This sounds great! I’m confused about the missing threshold control now, is it a fixed threshold? Seems to be adding compression when I’m only hitting -6db TP

  48. Iesta 2014/04/14 at 23:40

    Hi vladgsound,

I just want to say thank you for the love of Music. This is the first time I can compete against commercial level.
I finally found a plugin to express my music at his maximal level so thank you Man really it’s realy important to me

  49. mikeg 2014/05/01 at 16:46

Great Limiter, thank you very much, Vlad!
In 64-bit windows version the GUI is the same (alternative) for both dlls, would be nice if you could fix it!

  50. 'Boutbeats Flo 2014/05/07 at 23:51

wow… this is awesome, replaced my commercial plug with this!! crazy… thanks!! bless up!!

  51. Kris 'PsyKo' HakuKaze 2014/05/22 at 19:12

    Hi!
First: A big warm and thankful thank! (yup!) 🙂
I can’t remember how I found your plugins, perhaps when I was looking for a brickwall limiter… Or, when I was crawling on the web at 3 a.m. between 2 song mixes… 🙂 Anyway, since they have AU versions, I’ve used them on most of my mixes. I really like how they sound.
But, since the last Logic Pro X (10.0.7), when I put the Limiter N°6 (and sometimes Molot) on any track, my DAW goes AWOL :/
So, I went back to the 10.0.6, and…
Sometimes it closes, and I see the “The application quit unexpectedly” pop-up, sometimes it just closes and does nothing more, sometimes my DAW continues to work and tells me “Failed to load Audio Unit, please contact the manufacturer for an updated version or further assistance” and sometimes… It just works!
    It’s kind of weird.
Do you have a bugtracking system? Somewhere where we can put our crashlogs?

    • Kris 'PsyKo' HakuKaze 2014/05/22 at 20:55

Oh, and I forgot to mention the common denominator to most of the crashes :
Thread 0 Crashed:: Dispatch queue: com.apple.main-thread
      0 libobjc.A.dylib 0x00XXXXXXXXXXXXXX objc_msgSend_stret + 27

      • Kris 'PsyKo' HakuKaze 2015/06/28 at 18:41

Since 1.0.2b no more crash in Logic! (10.0.7 and later) 😀
        You’re the guv’!

  52. Ian 2014/06/19 at 03:41

Vlad, this is a seriously beautiful piece of virtual gear. I’ve used all the “magic limiters” from Waves and others and if you know what you’re doing, you can get cleaner, louder and more dynamic results all day long. Basically Molot and Limiter 6 live in my mastering chain.

  53. Keith 2014/07/24 at 01:40

Thanks, this plugin is great! Any chance a newer version should cut down on CPU usage? With certain projects, this plugin is slowing down playback.

  54. Diego 2014/09/04 at 03:33

Wow nice new skin!!. Very nice plugin. Thanks a lot!!!!. I use elephant, fabfilter, etc but this is a nice alternative. And sound musical and not pumping. And very easy get a loud master sounding good. Sorry for my english.

    Bye! Thanks!

  55. alienimplant 2014/09/15 at 09:42

Dude, the Peak Limiter in No6 is amazing. Thank you! Serious competition for FG-X, Invisible Limiter, and Xenon. The multi-band option with 4x oversampling knocked my socks off! No6 is now a permanent part of my mastering arsenal. I tested this on one of the most challenging acoustic masters I’ve had to work with. I am thoroughly impressed. Where do I send a donation?

  56. ÐigitaLWizarÐ 2014/12/10 at 02:02

Thanks a lot for this tool! I love it so much! I love the “blue skin” version, it has a better overview, a cleaner GUI, in my opinion. I just would like to know if it would be possible a blue GUI in version 1.0.2b.

Thanks for this GREAT free tool!

    DW

  57. Wouter 2015/01/25 at 12:31

It might be a user error on my side, but Limit nr6 does not work in Linux/Wine. Reaper loads the plugin and the audio works, but the gui never shows. I can change the parameters with the UI switcher of Reaper but the VU’s never show which make the plugin quite unuseable. The same thing happens with your Molot plugin. I’ve been using your plugins besides the stock plugins for some more color on Windows and Mac but recenty made a Linux machine to do my audio stuff. Anyway, I hope there is a fix out there. Thanks again for the nice plugins!

  58. evilunix 2015/01/31 at 15:37

The plugin is the bomb! Thank you!

  59. stof77 2015/02/27 at 19:44

This plug-in seems good, but is it going to be RTAS format too ( I mean without the need of a vst to rtas adapter) ?

  60. lunatech9 2015/03/07 at 02:18

    Hi Vlad,

Any Updates on GE versions of Limiter NO.6 and Molot. Looking forward to them and thanks.

Where can we make a donation for this superb limiter?

  63. Jay 2015/03/31 at 17:44

I have downloaded both Molot and Limiter no.6 following the instructions but I cant seen to find the plugins in my sessions. I am on Mac OS 10.10.2 using pro tools 11. Any suggestions on how to get these working? Thanks. Seems like a great quality products so I hope I can test them out.

  68. toby 2015/08/17 at 22:28

Thank you for programming free plugins! Limiter6 is a wonderful tool! I couldn’t produce music without old hard- and free software. Is there a chance for a Linux-version of your limiter6?

  69. pascal 2015/08/20 at 14:30

Amazing Please continue and make more

  70. kambiz mahdavi 2015/08/23 at 16:57

  72. stratking 2016/02/15 at 05:01

hello, how are you vladimir? what about the aax limiter 6 you wrote about above? any release this year? thanks

    • vladgsound 2016/02/17 at 00:32

      Yes, it’s expected!
Just remind me about it from time to time because I always put a development of something new as higher priority task 🙂

  73. Ryan 2016/03/27 at 01:14

Limiter No6 not showing up in Pro Tools 12 after copying to said folders.

    Thanks

  76. 2TexasFoeU 2016/05/12 at 03:40

    Thanks

  77. Jamie 2016/06/10 at 19:13

    I really like this plugin!
That being said, I find myself wishing that I had the ability to rearrange the order of the modules.
I would love to have the Clipper module first.
Throw a HP/LP filter in front of it then and you would have the perfect snare drum signal chain.
In fact, I find myself building a similar chain (HP/LP filter, clipper, limiter, etc.) rather than grabbing Limiter No. 6 for my snare tracks.

  78. Scott Soriano 2016/07/19 at 17:25

This plugin is fantastic. My go to now for drum and guitar buss treatment!

  79. Bo 2016/09/07 at 22:57

I was wondering how I could delete a preset, that I made by pure accident, within Limiter No6. (I think I may have posted this somewhere else by accident. If I did, I apologize!) I certainly do appreciate it ahead of time! (v=

P.S. Amazing work you ALL are doing on everything you’ve provided the “Joe Schmo” that cannot afford the software/hardware on the market today. This beats 99% of anything I’ve experienced, yet!

  80. Leigh 2016/09/09 at 01:12

Can limiter6 work with pt 11?

  81. Demetrice 2016/09/21 at 18:20

I can’t seem to find if you can use this with pro tools 12 being the plug ins are tax

  82. Paul Gillis 2016/10/07 at 04:51

I am using a seperate VST multi-band compressor, so I assume bypassing the compressor on here would be the way to go, correct?

    • vladgsound 2016/12/23 at 13:04

Yes, you can just bypass compressor module but in this case I’d use compressor module as smooth leveler with attack/release around 1 sec, ratio 1.1 and about 1 dB of gain reduction.

  83. gogi 2017/03/07 at 17:01

Hey Vlad, thanks for this gem! Any plans to update it in a form of new plugin in TDR line, with gui similar to Kotelnikov?

  84. jtmuso 2017/03/16 at 02:10

Thanks for your work Vlad! I’m using the limiter straight away and finding it intuitive. Cheers.

  85. ZQ 2017/03/16 at 16:05

Congratulations for your work. Limiter Nº6 has become my indispensable mastering tool.

  86. Wojtek 2017/05/15 at 13:56

One of the best plug-ins I’ve used! UA, Waves etc are not so perfect like Limiter No6! Great job!!! Take care and keep rolling! 😉

  87. dapz82 2017/08/02 at 17:10

One of the best limiters ice ever used !!!!!!!

  88. Jarmaine Jenkins 2017/09/09 at 18:13

I’ve been trying to download these products and the link don’t work

  89. Dan 2017/10/08 at 23:45

where the fuck is the download?

  90. Dan 2017/10/08 at 23:48

really disgusted with all these so called free download sites that just re direct & re direct etc.

    • Michal 2018/03/10 at 20:50

Hi Dan. Fuck you. Vlad is doing amazing work and giving it for free. Have some respect asshole.

Vlad thank you, molot is my favorite compressor, the color, mid scoop. Mix knob, i choose it over expensive compressor all the time.

  91. Myn 2017/10/28 at 15:53

    Thank you….

  92. John Hillard 2017/12/02 at 05:56

I downloaded a zip folder with a bunch of dynamic link and library files and a few readme files that I didn’t find helpful. There were no file extensions that would indicate an unzip or an installation start file. It was confusing and I gave up. Why not make installation a little more standard like?

While trying to install, I don’t have a “Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST” to drag the file to. I did find a “Plug-Ins/VST” and copied it to that, but then nothing happens and can’t access it through Reaper. Help me please!

What a great plugin, the Molot! By far the best algo I’ve used or heard. Thanks so much. Need a paypal link!

The link to the manual is broken (although the limiter is excellent, the manual would still be helpful😊)

I honestly only avoid using this limiter because the clipping cannot be bypassed for each module so I don’t know what module is doing the limiting or clipping, please could you implement that in the next update maybe, thanks Vlad.
